What is UPSC ?
The Public Service Exam (CSE) is a nationwide competitive exam in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various public services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian External Action Service and Indian Police service.
Also known simply as the UPSC exam, it is conducted in three phases – a preliminary exam that consists of two objective papers (General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II, popularly known as the Civil Service Aptitude Test or CSAT ). and a main examination consisting of nine papers of the conventional (essay) type, in which two papers are qualified and only seven points are counted, followed by a personality test (interview)
What Is UPSC & UPSC Full Form?
The full form of UPSC is the Union Public Service Commission.
UPSC conducts the National Level Test for 24 services under the Indian Center and State Government.
UPSC is authorized by the Constitution of India to make appointments to All India Services and Central Services Groups A and B, and to develop and update test methodologies for these recruitments with input from various departments.
Apart from this, UPSC is consulted on issues related to promotion and transfer of personnel and disciplinary issues involving an officer serving in a civilian capacity.
